Its atmosphere that overflows with a classic mood allows you to feel he Japanese virtues of "wabi-sabi". With a beautiful rust color finish that is not only gorgeous but also allows you to feel uniquely Japanese rich depth.
With a dynamic pattern of horses, animals which have been considered auspicious since ancient times. The word for horse in Japanese, "uma", is an auspicious one related to things goes well.
The copper lid knob is in a chrysanthemum shape. Lids of kettles used for boiling water in tea ceremony are primarily copper lids.
The origin of modern iron kettles is said to be a kettle called a "tedorigama". It is a form of kettle used in tea ceremony with a spout and handle attached with metal rings. (These are "ears" attached to both sides of the kettle body which two handles used to lift the kettle pass through.)
This lidded item that can be used everyday seems to follow up design-wise on the copper lids used in tea ceremony iron kettles.

*In order to prevent rust to a certain degree using inside of the iron kettle it has been quenched at a high temperature. The inner film may have peeled off on some items,​ however please kindly rest assured that this is still a quality item. The quenching and material production method are for the purpose of eluting the iron content as much as possible. (There are also items that have been coated after being quenched.) Items with the film peeled off are in no way harmful whatsoever.
*While being used,​ red spots may appear in the inner portion. However,​ this is a phenomenon unique to iron kettles. Please kindly understand that it is not possible to use completely rust-free items as iron kettles. Even if there is rust,​ if the water is not a gold-tinged color,​ then there is no problem in using it.
*Most Nanbu iron kettles have no holes in the lid for steam to escape from and so hot water may spurt out from the pouring opening when boiled. When heating,​ shift the lid slightly so that steam is able to vent. When transferring boiled water to a pot etc.,​ be sure to place the lid properly back on the main kettle and pour while holding the knob using a cloth etc. Should the lid slip and fall off it is very dangerous,​ as the hand that holds the handle will come into contact with hot steam. Also,​ when pouring,​ hot water may spurt out from the opening so take proper care.
*The handle may become hot so be sure to use a cloth etc.
*Should you boil with water filled all the way to the opening (in a full capacity state) it is dangerous as it will boil over. Fill up to a capacity of approx. 8/10ths full at one time should you wish to boil a lot.
*Leaving in contact with water will cause rust.
*Boiling while empty may cause damage to the inner film and surface coating as well as rust so take proper care.
*Size and weight may differ slightly from item to item.
