Was once used as an insect cage.
Whereas most "Suruga 1000 Thread Bamboo Work" is made by leveling out the borders, this work was made with a vertical construction, making it an interesting and rare item.
The lacquer uses gradation for a nice contrasting effect.
Works well as a present to mark the opening of a new establishment.
