Yakumonuri lacquerware, a traditional craft product designated by the governor of Shimane Prefecture

On Yakumonuri lacquerware, patterns are depicted with various colored lacquer, mother-of-pearl, and gold or silver powder on lacquered base material. Fine natural transparent lacquer is overlaid on it and then finished with a traditional polishing technique. As years go by, the transparent lacquer becomes clearer making the patterns more magnificent.

Cherry blossoms and maple leaves are designed with dry colored lacquer and silver powder on the base wood lacquered with a Negoro-nuri technique.
It can hold hot drinks as long as they are a drinkable temperature.

*Do not keep immersed in water. Keep upside-down on top of a dry cloth.
