Ikkyu, known as Ikkyu-soujun, is said to be a Zen monk in the Daitokuji branch of the Rinzai sect, during the Muromachi period. "Ikkyu" was his childhood name, and there are many anecdotes left about him since he was very smart and witty.
This Ikkyu doll is sitting in Zen meditation. Made by the doll maker "Tsuchida Hakurei" in Kyoto. Painstakingly created one by one. Gentle color usage and pleasant design.
