Incense stands featuring animal caricatures. A picture scroll of animal caricatures passed down at Kozan Temple in Kyoto is said to be the oldest comic in Japan in which animals were personified.
Among them, the animals found in the most famous volume are used for this item. Even though it's a cast product, the details like their facial expressions and gestures are finely expressed.
Also, it's made by a female craftsman who has been engaged in casting for 30 years using traditional skills in Takaoka. Every product is made carefully with a woman's delicate attention, from casting to polishing.
