Nara brushes are designated a traditional craft product by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. They are crafted using a traditional technique called "nerimaze". Raw hairs are individually soaked in water in order to harden them. Hairs are mixed thoroughly according to the proper combinations and measurements. The finished tips are excellent due to the careful crafted process. Each brush is handcrafted by a certified traditional artisan in Nara. This long head brush is for kaisho, gyosho and sosho on hanshi. For the intermediate or well experienced calligraphers。As its grip is made of very rare nanten branch, you can enjoy watching the beauty of wood grain and writing favorable curves according to each brush. The brush tip is made from flexible sheep hair.
