Nara brushes are designated a traditional craft product by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. They are crafted using a traditional technique called "nerimaze". Raw hairs are individually soaked in water in order to harden them. Hairs are mixed thoroughly according to the proper combinations and measurements. The finished tips are excellent due to the careful crafted process. Each brush is handcrafted by a certified traditional artisan in Nara. This is for writing Kana on Hanshi, and is perfect for beginners and intermediately experienced calligraphers. The tip of brush is made from flexible weasel hairs, and the steady white raccoon hairs are used for the hairs around the brush neck. This is an easy-to-write brush with a fine tip.
